Duraflex features in Supreme success
Duraflex has featured in the refurbishment of a four-storey block of flats in Blackpool. Supreme Windows and Conservatories completed fabrication and installation of replacement PVC-U doors and windows for the project using the Duraflex Featured Suite. The contract, valued at £18,500, was awarded to Supreme by local contractor,A K Construction.
The fully featured system from Duraflex was specified for the project for its outstanding aesthetic and performance credentials. The 70mm profile's classic styling and larger size provided an ideal replacement for the flats' 20-year old timber windows. Also, unlike some featured frames, this comprehensive system incorporates featured detail on all outer frames, transom and sashes. In addition it benefits from a full depth Euro Groove for compatibility with most types of hardware and which makes adjustment and installation of hardware much easier.
In addition to its visual appeal, the Featured Suite benefits from a 5-chamber construction and has been independently tested and proven to comply with Part L in England and Wales and already exceeds the higher Scottish U value of 1.8W/m2K. It also carries all the necessary BSI, BBA and PAS 23/34 accreditations, ensuring peace of mind for contractors and end users.
Duraflex's internally glazed option was selected for the Blackpool flats to ensure optimum security for residents. Supreme also fabricated and installed residential doors for the project using the same Featured profile and all doors and windows were supplied in a brilliant white finish.
This Suite also incorporates Duraflex's Rolled in Gasket (RIG), which offers an exceptionally high performance seal that is concealed within the frame for enhanced aesthetic appeal. Being factory fitted during the extrusion process, RIG also delivers productivity benefits during fabrication and makes glazing quicker and easier on site.
Supreme has its own fabrication facility and prides itself on producing quality products manufactured to BS 74 I 2.The company switched from its previous systems supplier to Duraflex about two years ago." Their products and service match our own high standards and helps us to secure repeat business from long-standing customers like A K Construction," says Supreme's Technical Director, Gary Walker.
