Optimum security

Duraflex's Featured Suite was selected in its internally glazed option for installation in a four storey block of flats in Blackpool to ensure optimum security for residents. The work, part of the refurbishment of the flats, was carried out by Supreme Windows and Conservatories who completed fabrication and installation of replacement pvcu doors and windows for the project. Local contractor A K Construction awarded the contract, valued at £18,500, to Supreme.

Supreme also fabricated and installed residential doors for the project using the same Featured profile and all doors and windows were supplied in a white finish.

The Duraflex Featured Suite's 70mm profile's classic styling and larger size was considered an ideal replacement for the existing 20 year old timber windows. Also, the Duraflex Featured system incorporates featured detail on all outer frames, transoms and sashes.

The Featured Suite benefits from a five chamber construction and according to Duraflex has been independently tested and proved to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations for England and Wales as well as already exceeding the higher Scottish u value of 1.8W/m2K.

Supreme has its own fabrication facility and switched from its previous systems supplier to Duraflex about two years ago. "Their products and service match our own high standards and helps us to secure repeat business from longstanding customers like A K Construction," said Supreme's technical director, Gary Walker.
